My biggest accomplishment this year has been hatching out several batches of chicks and 1 turkey.

We're really wanting a cow, but need to get fencing first. As for me, my dream has always been to get a lamb. Hasn't happened yet, but I'm inspired by your cow! :)One Southern Girlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02022681398463289544noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6779910253831215478.post-14470540785268045742010-10-12T23:51:46.728-05:002010-10-12T23:51:46.728-05:00@Emily - it really is pretty darn great. :)@Southe...@Emily - it really is pretty darn great. :)

@Southern - glad you liked it! :) I did have a whole flock of chickens, until one of our dogs started picking them off one by one. She never wanted to eat them, but they were pretty fun to chase around and catch! I really miss those farm fresh eggs!

I never tried, but Highland cows are supposedly really good dairy cows, as well as for beef. If you ever do get a cow, I definitely suggest the Highland - you just need something better than a cheap electric fence like I had. :) They are smaller than regular cattle, very easy to take care of and so nice and gentle. :)Cloth Chronicleshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09557319443593192279noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6779910253831215478.post-10448817174599912002010-10-13T01:34:36.474-05:002010-10-13T01:34:36.474-05:00Oh my gosh.
